The End of the Road

Well, we're nearing the end of our story. This post SHOULD have the final 2 chapters... But it all depends..

Monday the 25th

Well, I neglected/forgot to mention that in the chapters before, the PowerPoint presentation has substantially improved. Yesterday, the day was used to take photographs and place them in the presentation. Apart from that, yesterday was the touching up of the PowerPoint presentation, addition of slide transition, and text animation.

We had a lot of fun yesterday, even more so than usual. I think it's because we were close to the deadline and finishing the presentation. I guess the adrenaline started to kick in. But the ecstatic fun came at a price, we were all pooped by the time we got home... fatigued by the day we had undergone as fighters of women's rights.

Tuesday the 26th

Well, well, this should be the final chapter. The dessert to dinner, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, THE END to this epic story. This is our story. The story of women's rights. And we are proud to tell it. :)

Anyway, today was very nerve wracking. The final touch-ups were added to anything and everything. The budget sheet was finalised and it was amazingly short. :D We were supposed to send in a copy of our presentation, but we didn't know HOW to get WHERE. In the end, our way out was to go early tomorrow and hand up the CD.

Basically, that is how the fight went. An epic battle to try and end a terrible war. :) Thank you for reading all the way here, and finishing the story. Be well. And remember...

Violation of women's rights? COUNT ME OUT.

THE END

p/s : will be uploading photos... :p

The 'continued' in 'to be continued...'

Hey there, yet another post to tell you our story. :) Let's continue, shall we?

Saturday the 23rd

We met up at school and continued with the shooting of the third video clip. It was definitely a short clip.... for a long day. I guess you must be wondering why it was a 'long' day.. You see, we encountered a really frustrating complication in our attempts to copy the videos in the camcorder's cassette tape to the computer's hard disk.

Apparently, when we attached the camcorder to the laptop via USB, it could detect only the memory card in the camcorder instead of the cassette tape. So, all of us put our heads together and tried to transfer whatever videos in the cassette tape to the memory card in the same camcorder.

We tried everything. But nothing seemed to work. In the end, since it was getting late, we decided to reshoot all three clips on Sunday, and call it a day. On to the next chapter!!

Sunday the 24th

Again, we met up at our usual place, beloved SMKSH and went straight to the recording of our video clips. It was fairly quick, we knew what we were doing. :p Instead of using the camcorder though, we used a normal digital camera to record the clips. Obviously, it was stored in the digicam's memory card and transferring the data to the laptop became much, much easier. We just had to plug in the USB cable and we were in business! :D

On this day too, we came up with the title cum slogan of our fight for what's right:

Violation of women's rights? COUNT ME OUT.

And after that 'interesting' climax, the chapter ends...

"enough is enough"

Hard at work!

Well, you could say this is a piece of photographic artistry due to the un-upright-ness of the photo. :D Anyway, the photo is of Alif, a friend and teammate of ours who agreed to model an example of our campaign T-shirt. However, in the photo, you see that there is no wording or sleeves. That will be 'rectified'. :p

The next chapter of this story begins on...

Thursday the 21st.

We had set Tuesday and Thursday as days to stay back. So, in accordance to our plans, the group had stayed back on this day to continue work on our project. This time, we had a laptop, camcorder, and information. :D

Some of us set to work with the second video clip and the rest got 'stuck' doing the PowerPoint presentation. Ahaha, the second video clip had a few setbacks. For some reason, there was just something 'not right' with the clip. But in the end, we managed to nail it. The others had managed to accomplish a few slides of the PowerPoint presentation. We then went our separate ways looking forward to the next day... the next chapter.

Friday the 22nd

We didn't stay back on Friday. However, the day did not go to waste. :D Instead, a couple of us, who had a hold on the laptop, decided to update the PowerPoint presentation. We just added any slides which were relevant to the topic and that was that. :)

to be continued...

"enough is enough"

Apologies...

Hey there...

I know it's been a long time since I last blogged and I apologize. Work on this project has really been keeping me busy. Trying to finalise everything before the important day. Ahahah, which is... tomorrow! Well, it's not how much you blog that counts, it's what you blog about, isn't it?

Why don't I take you on a journey through what we did during this project. Sounds good, doesn't it? :p But where do I begin? OH! Let's talk about the next chapter. :)

Tuesday the 19th:

The next day was a normal school day for us. We had stayed back after school to start on the project. Well, we began by dividing the work between the group members. Some on blog, some on the PowerPoint presentation, some on the report, some on the information gathering, and some in the photography department.

Since it was the beginning of our project, we had only a camcorder, thanks to our darling friend, Ishani. Therefore, we decided to start video taping some of the scenes. :D We had little trouble recording the first scene, however we kinda took a while to settle in to our roles. :p Hence, Tuesday was dedicated to the first video.

Wednesday the 20th:

Ahaha! :D This day was pretty interesting.. It was Open Day in our school, basically, it's where parents come to school to pick up their children's report cards. What I meant by 'interesting' was that after getting our report cards.... our parents were kinda averse towards letting us continue with the project... at least on that day. Don't worry! The next day was much more productive! :D

Fillers!! :D

Hello again!

Well, here's that filler we promised. Hmmm, where to start? Ah! The first week after our assignment briefing on 13th June, we decided to pick teammates and all that. We chose to have a mix of form 4s and form 5s. (will post up list of members)

Then, when that was done, we decided that form 4s and form 5s each planned out our strategies and work and things to be done... basically, our to do list. :p We gave both groups the rest of the week to draw out a complete plan... and present their stuff on the following Monday.

Monday arrives...

After school, all of us stayed back to hear each other's ideas. Form 4s and form 5s each had their brilliant moments... but in the end, form 5s won out, much to everyone's approval. :) The form 5s idea was protection of women's rights. Hence, the username WR Protector (women's rights protector) and 'enough is enough' signifying it's time to fight violation of women's rights.

The plan was laid out for us, and the next day, our work started. That will be discussed in our next post. :D But for now, this chapter has reached it's ending....

'enough is enough'

Friday, June 22, 2007

WOOHOO! First post! Well, there is a reason we're starting this post. So, to those who are reading this, be prepared... you're gonna be wow-ed! Maybe.... :p Anyway, let this post be dedicated to telling the beginning of our story... the 'once upon a time' in our book.

Once upon a time.....

On the 13th of June, at around 8 a.m., 4 of us, two girls and two boys had journeyed to Menara TM, at Jalan Pantai Baru. Of course, when we got there, we did the normal registering and all that... but we also experienced something unusual, we actually had BREAKFAST there. I mean, usually, they prepare lunch only. Imagine our surprise when there was breakfast! :D

Well, anyway, what an AMAZING breakfast!! We had sausages, and fried noodles, topped off with orange juice! Well, at least, that's what I had. :p After, we moved up to the 40th floor, and sat in the hall. Not long after, we entered the second chapter of our story...

The CELCOM people gave a talk, giving us an insight into their company. They explained the aspects of their company and such. They even hosted games for all the students present... we guessed it was to promote their company. :p nevertheless, it was all good and FUN! After about two hours, the stage was passed on to....

Mrs. Banu. I hope I spelt the name correctly. Sorry if I didn't. :) Well, she took the stage, and talked on violence against women for about 1 1/2 hours. In that time, she also talked about the correct behaviour women should have, provocative clothing women wear these days to fit in, and also talked on men being the cause too. She also gave a comparison to how it was in the past and the present, even showing us videos on dances which were 'interesting', to say the least...

Next on stage was....

One of the guys from the group that won last year's competition. Basically, he talked about the do's and don'ts of the project, guiding us on how to be successful in our efforts. Next, a woman came up and updated all of us with contact information. She also gave us info on the report and blog. The same blog you're reading right now.. :D

Well, then came the 15 minute breather... actually, it was more like 15 minutes to brainstorm for ideas to present on stage for 10 mins. After our 15 minutes were up, Dzariff went up on stage, and voiced ideas on bullying mainly. Not to be bragging or anything, but we believe those ideas were critically acclaimed by the judges. :D

Moving on.... we were supposed to go back at 230 p.m. Unfortunately, due to unavoidable circumstances, we had to go back to school earlier. we had a lot of fun, so it doesn't really matter. but there was lunch, and we missed it, I felt kinda sad. :p

Well, that's it for our first post. The next one will fill you guys up on what we did between the 13th of June till around now. Laters!

"enough is enough"

p/s : you must be wondering what was going on with our blog, why didn't we start earlier and all that. We were actually waiting on an email to use another blogsite or something like that.. but this lead to that, and in the end, we were told to use blogger! :D
